SubscribeUs guys at Spider Energy Drink have been saying all along that Spider Energy drink is the “BETTER VALUE, BETTER TASTE” energy drink alternative to the over priced national brands. But as most consumers have been burned by me too copy cats that keep trying to compete head to head with the big boys, we at Spider Energy have taken a different approach. What you ask? Well for one you can purchase a BIG 16oz can of Spider for only 99 Cents. Yes 99 cents (plus tax and redemption, where applicable). Secondly, our stuff taste pretty darn good. Hey it’s not easy to put double the B-Vitamins and 50% more caffeine in a can of Spider and make it taste as good as it does. I mean our competition has less stuff inside their cans and (in my opinion) they taste like crap. But then again, with all that extra money you spend on a can of their stuff, they can afford to advertise and brain wash you that you can go faster, become a beast and so on, and so on, etc. Hey we make no promises, just that you get a great energy drink that taste good and has more energy driving ingredients than our competitors. Spider Widow Maker
It has been a couple of years since I reviewed the original Spider energy drink. I am glad to see they are still going strong and have a new flavor out. Widow Maker is the new brand extension and you gotta love that name. Let’s see if the drink can live up to it.
Packaging: Ok so you have a really cool black can with purple graphics. It looks sinister and aggressive. I like the purple spider and edgy font but the creepy grey mosaic spider in the background is awesome. I do think the 99 cent mark takes away a little but hey you gotta get that info out there. There is even a cool spider on the pull tab. Plenty of good info on the back of the can including caffeine content. Grade A+
Slogan: Aside from the Spider energy overall slogan of “Get bit stay lit” you also have a slogan just for this drink. “Drink what you fear” as well the one for the sugar free version is “Drink without Fear” I love all of them and they work great with the can and image. Grade A+
Taste: So popping the top the scent is a pomegranate type scent. Pouring some in a cup it comes out a golden brown with a medium carbonation. I take a sip and the first thing I notice is the Acai up front. It is not an overpowering Acia as it is cut with some pomegranate. The pomegranate seems to come more to the front as the drink warms up some. While it is ice cold though the Acai seems to be the boss. The level of sweetness is fairly high but it is a good thing. There is no bitterness or after taste. Grade B
Kick/Ingredients: So this drink definitely packs some venom in its chelicerae! It hits you in the usual 15 minutes with a full on, hard core, and sugar fueled energy. I had some mild jitters and a full dose of energy that had me really feeling great. I was animated, talkative, and just looking for stuff to do and people to talk at. Really this is the kind of buzz a lot of people love. Nothing subtle here. The energy lasted me a good 4 hours with a minor sugar crash. This biting energy comes from Caffeine 240 mg, Taurine 2000 mg, Ginseng 200 mg, Guarana 200 mg, L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine, and B vitamins in the 200 to 500 % DV range (higher than most). You get this with 220 calories and 54 grams of sugar and carbs. It is sweetened with Sugar and Glucose. The sugar free version has no sugar, calories, or carbs. The SF version is sweetened with sucralose and ace k. Grade B+ for kick/ingredients

Ok so as you can see this is a great drink. It easily rivals Monster in energy and taste and it comes in at about 1/3 of the cost! I have to say you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not seek out this drink. With the economy in the shape it is you can still get your awesome buzz and save some money. Did I mention the can is awesome? You know you will turn heads when people see you drinking this drink. Just get some ok!
